Power BI Turns 3 and introduces more exciting features!

Can you believe it has been 3 years since the release of Power BI, and how it has changed the analytics landscape for organisations around the world.  The last quarter has brought some of the most exciting updates including Dashboard Theming (May), Drill Through  capabilities on mobile (June), the latest expansion of self-service prep for Big Data, and advanced Analytics and AI in July. 

Perspective Data Governor 5.2 arrives

Data Governor v5.2 arrived this quarter, and introduces a number of new features making it even easier to consolidate all of your Enterprise data from both on-premises and in the cloud. 

Azure Databricks in Australia

July saw the announcement that Azure Databricks is now generally available in Australia. Concerns regarding data sovereignty, speed and cost are no longer inhibitive to taking advantage of the features Databricks has to offer.

IoT Edge generally available globally

Microsoft announced the general availability of IoT Edge globally at the end of June this year.

Azure IoT Edge is a service which allows users to deploy and run Azure services, AI and custom logic on IoT devices. Users can containerise Azure Cognitive Services, Machine Learning, Stream Analytics and Functions so they can run them on all kinds of devices, ranging from Raspberry Pis to industrial equipment. This is what Microsoft means when it talks about processing data "at the edge." {source}
